About
Our Student Organization
On September 1, 2005, Charles Herbert Flowers NBSE Jr chapter was founded when a group of individuals decided to turn their shared interests into an official Student Organization. After a couple of quick meetings, they were on our way to creating something extraordinary.
With time, we’ve grown into a more serious and mature organization, allowing us to take our interests to new levels. When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events and, more importantly, to a community of people who are just as passionate as you are.
Our Programs
Although brought together based on a common passion, not all members are interested in the same activities. There are several options to pick from, so browse our catalog and choose the one that’s best for you.
Ten80
Using Ten80 Education curriculum programs, students certify in mechanical, electrical, and problem-solving to manage the scheduling, marketing, graphic design, math, science and tech knowledge acquisition, and entrepreneurial skills necessary to run a small business.
VEX Robotics Competition
VEX Robotics Competition Over Under is played on a 12’ x 12’ square field configured as seen above. Two (2) Alliances – one (1) “red” and one (1) “blue” – composed of two (2) Teams each, compete in matches consisting of a fifteen (15) second Autonomous Period, followed by a one minute and forty-five second (1:45) Driver Controlled Period.
TMAL
Try-Math-A-Lon (TMAL) is a tutoring program meant to foster good study habits for students from groups underrepresented in STEM, help prepare them for standardized exams such as the ACT and SAT, groom them for success in STEM courses and promote competition and good sportsmanship
About Us
A vital component of NSBE Jr. is the PCI program, which serves as the membership category for pre-college students and institutions that are officially chartered with NSBE. NSBE Jr. members and chapters are at the core of PCI, as they are the primary beneficiaries of PCI programs. NSBE Jr. focuses on enhancing the education received by African-American and other minority pre-college students, as well as influencing these students to become tomorrow’s corporate executives, entrepreneurs and leaders. In this spirit, NSBE Jr. is the quintessential recruitment, teaching and preparation device for NSBE.
